Anna can army scoot with the best of them. But she hasn't mastered (or really attempted) "real" crawling. I think she got so fast at the army crawl that she doesn't see the use of other forms of crawling. Imagine our surprise this morning when we looked over a few moments ago to see this. The bottom of the coffee table is 3-4 inches of the ground. Apparently it is perfect for crawling over. She is starting to eye the stairs. I'm scared.
Caroline and I went to dinner and Lowes tonight. We ate fine Panera fare with Caroline having the Mac n Cheese with yogurt side dish (and some of Daddy's chips). Daddy had the excellent Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich with some chips (someone else ate a bunch of them). We drank fine glasses of water and had yummy Easter egg cookies for dessert. Then we headed to Lowes for the real action...and after some time...Caroline fell asleep :-)
Please put your trays in the upright position as Capt. Caroline is about to take off.......at Smithsonian Air and Space for Caroline's birthday.
My new favorite past time is to watch Caroline "reading" books to Anna. The experience has the double pleasure of listening to Caroline make up stories and also hearing her trying to talk to Anna. Generally Anna is enamored with whatever Caroline is doing. But occasionally Anna scoots around (or rolls) to find a toy or mischief. At that point Caroline says to Anna "Anna I cannot read you a book if you aren't paying attention." Hilarious. I wonder where she has heard that before. But it is really sweet. Caroline tells wonderful, involved stories (for a not quite 4 year old) and carefully shows Anna the pictures on every page. She also lets Anna pick books (though the process isn't clear to me at this juncture.)
We hit a milestone yesterday UPS brought us our second booster/high chair. You can't really tell but we bought exactly the same kind for Anna that Caroline already has. Anna did pretty well, though she wasn't super excited about being constrained in a seat. But I think being at the same height as everyone else during dinner outweighed that complaint.
We are pretty excited about the change in our family from 2012. We don't think things will change quite so dramatically this year, but we sure are looking forward to watching our girls grow!
