Visitors

We are SO excited to have Elliot and Olivia Hines here this weekend.
Caroline is pretty pleased to have extra people to play with. We went
for Mexican tonight and came back and played Monopoly. Tomorrow bodes
well with great weather and fun planned.

Mmmm watermellon

It is over 100 this weekend in DC and generally feels like a sauna
outside. But, that isn't keeping us from having fun. On Friday evening
our church's VBS wrapped up with a cookout for the whole church.
Caroline was too little this year to attend but that didn't keep us
from enjoying the cookout. Luckily it was in a well shaded spot. So we
were able to keep reasonably cool. But, as you can see, it was really
the watermellon that was the great hit. Caroline ate/dripped three
pieces all over herself and loved every minute of it. She ran and
played so hard she almost fell alseep in the bath when we got home.

Keeping cool in this heat and still getting to play is tricky.
Yesterday we went to the pool and ate several popsicles. Today I think
we are going to play in the hose. Even our pool is warm at this point!!

We tried again

We have tried the library off and on and Caroline hasn't really taken
to it. But I tried again yesterday. She was very excited about taking
the books off the shelf and sitting down as if she was going to read
them. She would then get up and "reshelve" the books. It was pretty
cute. Of course she would pull "Daddy, Pappa and Me" out. Luckily she
wasn't interested in reading it, just getting it out. Whew. Perils if
living in Arlington I suppose.

My how we have grown!

Jack brought Caroline's bouncy seat home today (his co-worker had
borrowed it). Caroline immediately climbed in. The result made me
laugh!! Wow she isn't a baby anymore.
