Well, I think the faces say it all. Caroline actually did a good job. She cried but generally did what she was asked to do. We took her to a pediatric dentist which made the visit a little easier. But, this wasn't her favorite part of her day (but getting the prizes at the end might have been). :)
Today is the day to think about furry creatures and movies from the early 90s. Caroline only learned about the furry animal part. But I had to share. This was hilarious (and cute) to me. Her teachers gave them cut out groundhogs, they taped them to stirrers and put them inside a "hole" (cup). The kids were going around the room figuring out where the groundhog would see its shadow. Having a bunch of 2-3 year olds all doing this must have been hysterical. In any case here is a picture of Caroline with her groundhog.
Caroline found a new place to try to snuggle/nap this weekend. After a rather yummy cinnamon roll for breakfast (and a thorough wiping of sticky hands), Daddy let her perch on his shoulders for a bit. She normally sings and is silly up there. But we had friends over the night before and she was up playing with their two girls. Apparently napping seemed like a better option.
On a whim I got Caroline out of the building for lunch (I normally pack for both of us but didn't do that today) we went and got hot dogs and French fries. Caroline was enthused (though funny enough she didn't want to share my Sprite. She said it didn't taste good. Fine by me.)
Well, 'tis the season for the ick. Caroline got it with a vengeance over the weekend. She had to stay inside much of the time (you can see she is having a terrible time as a result) :) She now has a confirmed case of double ear infection, and the amoxicillin to go with them. So we are on the mend. And just in time for the 60 (?!?) degree weather we are going to have today. Anyone have some snow they can send our way?
A day early (Jack had to work today) we made a family visit to the new Martin Luther King Jr memorial on the mall. It is a pretty cool statue, though it isn't as imposing as some of the other memorials on the mall. But, I admit my view may be a bit skewed by the fact that it was COLD. It was still sunny (see ubiquitous sunglasses), but really cold. But we ran around a bit to warm up. The view of the reflecting pool is pretty cool too.
One of our friend's little girl is not so little any more. She has decided that she isn't going to play with all of her baby doll stuff any more. So she passed it on to Caroline--much to Caroline's joy. She spent a great portion of today giving baby dolls baths. Who knew the baby dolls were so dirty?
So it didn't last long and there wasn't much, but we finally got snow. And as an added bonus, it was perfect snowball snow. So we took Caroline outside and taught her the fine art of throwing snowballs at Daddy's knees. She decided (she has her mon's inability to aim) that it was more fun to jump on them and say "stomp." Too funny.
Happy Three Kings day! We have taken to having a little Epiphany celebration as a family since we are always at home, no matter where we travel for Christmas. So this morning we woke Caroline up just a little early for muffins and the fun surprises in her stocking in honor of the wise men. You can see what her favorite surprise was. Of course George had to come and help us at the grocery this afternoon.
What, don't you wear your sunglasses when you go to the zoo? Don't yours have sparkles?
