Birthday Party

And here is another picture for everyone. This is from Caroline's birthday party with "Ruffie" (known to grown ups as Ruthie Robertson). Ruthie is one of Caroline's favorite people and was the only person that Caroline asked to have at her party. It worked out well since Ruthie's mom had just given birth to her little brother Levi, and it was my turn to provide dinner. So, we had dinner at our house with balloons and cake!

A little behind

I know, I know, I'm (a little) behind. But, I'm going to try to make up for it. Here's a fun picture of Caroline at her birthday party at daycare. She's sitting amongst all of her friends with the bright yellow tablecloths her daddy bought the night before. We also found really fun hungry, hungry caterpillar plates.
And then, the next day I stayed home all day with Caroline and she got to play with her great new kitchen. It sits right next to the entry way into our kitchen (and matches the fun red in our dining room). Caroline LOVES making dinner for us. Of course, she always makes pizza (which is funny, given that we don't have pizza that often). It shows that we've moved on from mac & cheese being her favorite food.

We have decided it is almost spring here. We saw these at Target today--the last ones and in her size. I just couldn't help myself. (The true delight on her face when I let her hold them was so cute. No "mine" or "I want". Just "Caroline's?). Bring on the puddles. We are ready!!

The wheels on the bus...

You know you are having a two year old's birthday party when you sing the "wheels on the bus" to yourself while decorating. But, I think it came out ok. The people on the bus scared the heck out of me. But, luckily they don't look too deranged or lopsided. (You just don't want the kid to be scared of her own cake!). All in all the eBay cake pan purchase plus a little buttercream icing seemed to do the trick. Whew.

Nana and Papa came to visit us this weekend and we had a great time with them. It was wonderful to hang out with them and Caroline was thrilled. We went to the National Building Museum where there was an architecture exhibit with lego buildings of famous buildings like the Sears tower. They also had this great area for kid (of all ages) to make their own Lego buildings. So, here is Caroline with her Daddy and Papa. So fun!

Who Me?

>> Friday, February 4, 2011

This little funny girl played a prank on her dad last night. Both went grocery shopping and daddy did not use a cart, but a basket which was overloaded. We spent a lot of time in front of the pudding section, daddy looking at the top shelves for powder pudding products. Late, dad went to the checkout and rushed home. Lo and behold he found Caroline had stashed away a package of pudding for herself. This a picture of the guilty party rejoicing.
